Our Story
Chatterbox was created for adult learners who want something a little different from their English lessons.
As both a language learner and a teacher, I was often frustrated by courses that felt disconnected from real life—relying on bland dialogues and outdated topics that had nothing to do with how I actually wanted to speak. I wanted lessons that were engaging, relevant, and grounded in the kind of conversations we have with friends, family, and colleagues every day. That’s why I started Chatterbox.
Our lessons are designed around authentic, culturally rich content—think TED Talks, National Geographic features, News articles, film, literature, and more. We believe that language comes alive when it’s connected to ideas that matter. Whether you're passionate about world issues, storytelling, or just love a good podcast, there’s something here for you.

Our language courses seamlessly integrate real-world materials such as books, articles, and multimedia, ensuring an immersive and dynamic learning experience. By focusing on topics rather than rigid grammar drills and textbook exercises, our approach helps you acquire language naturally—just as you would in your native tongue. Integrative learning blends reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities, so you'll develop fluency and confidence in discussing real-world topics both inside and outside the classroom. This method keeps you engaged, sharpens critical thinking, and enhances your ability to use language in meaningful, everyday conversations.

Blended
Our language courses follow a blended learning approach, combining face-to-face instruction with digital resources for a more flexible and engaging experience. All of our courses include face to face instruction with a professional teacher, and in small groups of up to 6 people to give you lots of practice time. All of our learners also get access to our exclusive online learning platform, which offers additional practice activities and teacher feedback between lessons as well as the chance to connect with other learners. These self-paced activities put you in the driving seat of your learning, offering flexibility. With this mix of live interaction and online tools, you'll reinforce key concepts, develop fluency, and enjoy a personalised learning journey that adapts to your pace and needs.

Communicative
Our language courses follow a communicative approach, ensuring that learners actively use English in meaningful, real-world conversations. Whether it's through engaging discussions in book clubs, practical exchanges in business classes, or dynamic interactions in general English lessons, this method prioritises fluency and confidence. Lessons focus on authentic communication, incorporating role-plays, debates, and problem-solving activities to develop natural speaking skills. By practising language in relevant contexts, learners build proficiency that seamlessly transfers to everyday situations, professional environments, and social interactions.
